Welcome to my new blog!
Let me kick this off with an project I have been working on with the Euell Wilson Center, located in Fort Wayne, IN. I spent two afternoons hanging with these awesome kids and capturing what goes on at the center when the kids are there after school. If you don’t know about the center here is a little over view. The Euell Wilson Center was started in 1993 in memory of Euell Wilson who died in his sleep of adult SIDS in 1992. Euell attended Bishop Dweneger High School and was a star football player and all around great, funny, and caring guy! Euells mom Shirley Woods started the center to give kids an opportunity to get off the streets after school and during the summer. At the Center the kids can participate in activities from music to sports. The Center also provides meals with the help of the Community Harvest Food Bank. In addition, they provide homework help and group work to help youth with goings on in their lives. Shirley is an inspiration, she puts her heart and soul into the center and the kids everyday. I can tell this from spending only 2 afternoons with her.
Enjoy a few of the photos of the RAD kids I got to hang with!
